Many different learning and development opportunities are available to Bristol employees in order to gain knowledge and skills to better serve our students and community and contribute to the success of the college. Professional development and learning opportunities are provided by various areas of the college and this 网页 is meant to serve as a resource to employees of where to find such opportunities. Please keep in mind that we are continuously working on developing more opportunities, so please check back often as our offerings continue to evolve.


In-House Professional Development/Lunch & 学习

Center for Instructional Technology Expertise (CITE Lab)

The CITE Lab helps faculty and staff produce instructional media and integrate instructional technologies into their teaching. 作为 在线学习, the CITE Lab also provides technical support for Bristol's Learning Management System (Blackboard) and assists faculty in the development of high-quality online and hybrid 学习经验. Lash Center for Teaching and Learning

The college's Lash Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides professional development opportunities and resources for 教师 and Professional 工作人员 members and houses the Adjunct 教师 Center. For more information visit the Center for Teaching and Learning 网页.


Bristol Professional Development Application

Bristol's Learning Council oversees professional development applications and funding. Members of the Learning Council will review applications periodically over the course of the academic year and will award professional development activities until 基金 枯竭. AFSCME Professional Development

The AFSCME Classified Professional Development work group oversees the application process for the classified development 基金. Benefited classified employees are eligible to apply for funding for workshops or individual projects upon completion of the six-month probationary period per the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement. ABOUT工作坊经费, a Workshop Proposal Form (link below) should be completed in a manner that meets the needs and interests of the widest range of individuals and addresses current special needs and programmatic initiatives of the college.

For individual funding, the Individual Request Form should be completed describing the major elements of the proposed activity. Completed applications are due to Human 资源 at least a month before you are scheduled to attend. 请注意:工作 group meets during the first week of each month to review proposals and appropriate 基金.

Article 17, Section 8 of the AFSCME Local 1067 contract provides monies to unit members for professional development or educational assistance for reimbursement of course monies on a first-come first- serve basis.
